What happens during the procedure at our office in Eagan?

Dr. Skare will be able to fit and install your porcelain veneers over two short and painless visits. Initially, the color to be used for the dental veneers will be identified, using the patient’s own teeth as a guideline for the appropriate shade. Many times the patient will request that the veneers are whiter than the existing teeth. Next, a small portion of the surface of the tooth will be removed to make way for the porcelain veneer. An impression of the tooth with be made, and this will become the basis for the actual veneer that will be fabricated in a dental laboratory or, in office utilizing CEREC technology. As the porcelain veneer is being made according to the patient’s specific requirements, the patient will be asked to use temporary veneers.

During the second visit, the permanent veneers will be held against the surface of the teeth so that it can be checked for proper fit and color. When the dentist and the patient are satisfied, they will be cemented more permanently on the tooth surface and then adjusted for optimum fit and comfort. The size, shape, and the position of the dental veneer will be fixed meticulously relative to those of the patient’s existing teeth to achieve the best look possible.
